KL Rahul has issued a message to the BCCI, informing the board of his availability to feature in the second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions. One of the most talented all-rounders in cricket, KL Rahul, was unable to motivate his Indian Premier League (IPL) side, Delhi Capitals, to the playoffs of the competition.
DC went on to eventually end up 5th, a single position short of the knockouts, leaving players and fans talking about the ‘what-if’ situations. Rather than brooding over the missed attempt for the top 4, Rahul has put aside the disappointment by offering himself for the India A tour of England. Rahul has reportedly stated that he wishes to play for India A against the England Lions in the second unofficial Test, as per the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The series commences with the initial match on May 30 in Canterbury. Although Rahul is unable to join the team in time for the first match, he is reported to be eager about a slot in the team for the second match. The plan has also been made known to the BCCI and the chief of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar.
“He will be flying on Monday and playing a second unofficial test with the India A team. Since he is a member of the senior men’s team, who will be featuring in five Test matches in the series, these games will provide him game time and match practice,” Indian Express quoted a source as saying.

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Rahul had also spoken of his love for the longest format of the game. I enjoy red ball cricket. I mean you can’t deny me or anyone in that Indian team. Everyone that I’ve talked to in that Indian team, we’re all unanimous as far as Test cricket is concerned, number one for us. We enjoy playing Test cricket and that has not changed for me,” Rahul had said.
