Team India’s star batter, Virat Kohli, lost his cool at a fan after he was seemingly provoked. He returned to the dressing room after his dismissal on Friday after Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test. During his stay at the crease, Kohli looked fine, displaying solid concentration, especially when leaving deliveries outside the off-stump. However, the run-out of Yashasvi Jaiswal appeared to disrupt Kohli’sKohli’s rhythm, as he followed up with a nick off a delivery outside off-stump, resulting in his dismissal for 36.
As Kohli walked off after his gritty 86-ball knock, the Australian crowd gave him a chorus of boos. Though Kohli remained composed and unruffled, something seemed a comment from an Australian spectator did provoke him.
He turned around and began walking back towards the fan, visibly agitated. An official stepped in, placing a hand on Kohli’s shoulder to calm the situation and guide him back to the dressing room, urging him to ignore the taunts and move on.
Kohli has been in the scorching sights of Australian fans after this controversial incident with Sam Kostas on Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test. The two have a physical altercation. It started when they had shoulder-bumped each other, with Kostas at the crease, followed by a heated confrontation before Usman Khawaja intervened two.
