Mumbai,: Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble said something is not right in the way Indian batters bat against spin, and it is for the team to sit down and introspect.
The Indian team succumbed to the spinners’ duo of Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips as New Zealand spun out a 25-run victory over India in the third Test at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, handing them their first-ever series whitewash at home in a Test series of three or more matches.
On JioCinema, Kumble felt that the batters failed to make any adjustments against spin.
“This has been a pattern over the last three Test matches. When the spinners have come on, there hasn’t been an improvement from game to game.
A couple of players made some adjustments, which has helped in the batting order, but as a batting unit, they haven’t been able to get through those collapses. That has happened far too often in one session, which is a concern,” Kumble said.
