Liam Livingstone’s all-round show hands England a late win over Australia.
England and Australia will play the series decider in the third T20I after the hosts leveled the series 1-1. Posting 193/6 riding Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 50 and Travis Head’s quickfire 31, Australia seemed in control.
But Liam Livingstone‘s bowling figures of 2/16 restricted them in the end. Batting up the order, he struck a crucial 87.
Livingstone added 90 with Jacob Bethell as England recovered from 34/2 to chase down the target with six balls to spare. The all-rounder felt batting higher gave him more time and responsibility, which is benefiting his form.
Earlier, England looked in the hunt as Australia were well-placed at 119/2. But Fraser-McGurk‘s dismissal started their downfall.
Livingstone was adjudged Player of the Match for his impactful all-round display. Travis Head led the team in Mitchell Marsh’s absence.
Both sides will now look to claim the series when they meet in the decider on Sunday in Manchester. The closely fought T20I series is set for a thrilling finish.
