Pakistan blames Rachin Ravindra for injury incident

Pakistan has been very supportive of PCB for the mishap against Rachin Ravindra. The former skipper went to the extent of blaming New Zealand all-rounder for injury.

The Pakistan Cricket Board found itself in soup after Rachin Ravindra injured himself in the field during the 1st ODI of the tri-series between New Zealand and hosts Pakistan. Going for a catch, Rachin couldn’t spot the ball, which struck him flush on his head, causing heavy bleeding. With blood dripping profusely from his forehead, Rachin had to leave the ground, his face covered with a white towel.

However, the larger issue was that the PCB received flak for the incident wherein fans blamed the board and the floodlights of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium for the accident New Zealand all-rounder had. The stadium was inaugurated just a day before, amid much fanfare among the cricket fans of the country. However, some users demanded that the Champions Trophy 2025 be shifted out of Pakistan altogether due to a lack of necessities.

In this report, the Pakistan community at large has fired back with all guns blazing, with former captain Salman Butt pushing the blame on Rachin for that gruesome injury. Even as New Zealand Cricket has officially announced that the all-rounder sustained a laceration on his forehead, which required stitches and would be monitored, Butt goes on to declare that Rachin did not read the ball properly, which cost him that price.
