Pakistan drops Shaheen Afridi ahead of second test against Bangladesh

Pakistan cricket team management has made the big call of leaving Shaheen Afridi out of the squad that will play in the second and last Test match of the series against Bangladesh. After this development, out-of-favor batter Ahmed Shehzad posted some critical questions about the team’s performance. Shehzad said this while agreeing that Afridi had gone through a lean patch in recent games but quickly added that it was not up to him alone to transform the team’s fortunes.

This series saw Pakistan fail to beat Bangladesh’s team in test cricket for the first time; the team lost this time by 10 wickets. He posted a video on X and said,

“Is Shaheen Afridi only responsible for all of this? You lost to Zimbabwe, Ireland, the USA, India, and Bangladesh. ”

To support this, Shehzad stated that even though Afridi’s performances have been poor and his attitude irresponsible, it cannot all be pinned on him. ‘Everyone must be held to account,’ he emphasized. He highlighted that other players, such as Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub, should be assessed on their performance, thinking that they have not contributed to the team as expected in recent games.

It could be remembered that Shehzad had a word or two to say regarding the matter, as he pointed out, “It is not only one player the team has problems with. ” To bring changes back on tracks of Pakistan cricket, there is more than just soil to be dug out.

At the same time, the first day of the second Test at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was completely washed out by the rain, much less the toss. Despite this, much more attention is paid to the overall issues that Pakistan cricket has to face in the near future as the team gets ready for the match.
