Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif, during a live show on TV, had his scathing words for the present and future of Pakistan Cricket, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, for a disappointing T20 World Cup.
The respected voice in the cricketing world, Latif, did not shy away from criticism. He was clearly unimpressed with Babar, whom he thinks committed a ‘huge mistake’ by agreeing to take the captaincy again.
“If he carries on as captain, that would be another huge blunder by him,” Latif said in an interaction recently.
Furthermore, there was a big change because Latif encouraged both Babar and Rizwan to change their batting style, like senior Indian players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Latif granted the duo five T20I matches to alter their batting approach; otherwise, they would be set to be out of the team.
Pakistan’s group stage elimination in the just-concluded T20 World Cup has attracted a lot of criticism, as experts have urged an overhaul like Latif. It is now up to Babar, Rizwan, and the rest of the team to take note of this advice and adapt to those changes for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
