Pakistan recalls Abrar Ahmed, and Kamran Ghulam for the second Test against Bangladesh.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced changes to the squad for the second Test against Bangladesh, to be played in Rawalpindi from August 30.
Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed and middle-order batter Kamran Ghulam have been included, having been released from the first Test squad. The duo gained experience playing for Pakistan A against Bangladesh A recently.
Abrar’s control and ability to extract turns make him a valuable spin option on home pitches. Kamran provides depth to the batting order.
Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi also rejoins the squad after being released from the first Test. All-rounder Aamir Jamal has been recalled subject to clearing a fitness assessment after working at the National Cricket Academy.
Bangladesh scripted a historic win in the opening Test thanks to starring performances from spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
The inclusions of Abrar, Kamran, and Shaheen aim to strengthen Pakistan in the key areas of spin, batting, and pace ahead of the second Test.
