Rahane, Musheer put Mumbai in driver’s seat on Day 2
Ajinkya Rahane and Musheer Khan struck well-paced fifties as Mumbai ended Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy final on 141/2, extending their lead to 260 runs against Vidarbha.
Rahane was unbeaten on 58 while Musheer remained not out on 51 at stumps. The duo have steadied Mumbai’s innings after they bowled out Vidarbha for 105 on Day 1.
The pace trio of Tanush Kotian, Dhawal Kulkarni, and left-arm spinner Shams Mulani shone with the ball for Mumbai, claiming three wickets each to bowl the opposition out.
Yash Rathod (27) and Atharva Taide (23) were among the runs for Vidarbha but lacked support as they were dismantled for a sub-par total.
With Rahane and Musheer at the crease, Mumbai are now firmly in the driver’s seat. But Vidarbha will hope to strike early on Day 3 and grab the momentum back in the high-stakes final.
