Virat Kohli was embroiled in a controversy recently when the star Indian cricketer was seen by fans across social media for liking an Instagram post of actor Avneet Kaur. Kohli took it to the point of coming out and making it clear that the like had emerged when the algorithm was being updated.
Reflecting on the occurrence, actor Rakul Preet Singh said that it is “sad” that it was news and created headlines. Rakul even referred to Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma as the celebrity couple she admires most.
Talking in the Shubhankar Mishra Podcast, Rakul Preet Singh commented on the Virat Kohli-Avneet Kaur issue. “Too sad year. That is too sad. Hum log itne velle hai na. Hum bohot velle hain ki humko yeh bhi pata chal gaya ke 2 million followers badh gaye.
Fark hi nahi padta na yaar. Kya fark padta hai agar kisi ne like kara, ya nahi kara, ya galti se ho gaya (It is so sad. We have too much time on our hands to know that two million followers increased. How does it matter if someone liked it or did not like it, or it happened accidentally?),” Rakul replied.
Kohli had posted a clarification on Instagram after the incident. This is what Kohli posted: “I’d like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it seems the algorithm might have wrongly registered an interaction. There was no intention behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”
Ex-South Africa wicket-keeper batsman AB de Villiers thinks that out-of-form Virat Kohli will score a big knock for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 final encounter. He had confirmed their place for the final.
RCB dominated Punjab Kings by eight wickets in Qualifier 1 on Thursday to secure a direct entry into the final on the strength of their all-round show in Mullanpur. Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma took three wickets each and Yash Dayal took two wickets to knock over Punjab Kings for 101 in 14.1 overs in a must-win match.
