Ravi Shastri questioned whether the remaining Indian bowlers could execute their plans properly after Jasprit Bumrah waged a lone battle on Day 2 of the Gabba Test. While the rest of the bowling lineup failed, Bumrah picked up his second 5-wicket haul of the series.
Ravi Shastri asked whether the remaining Indian bowlers can get things going after Jasprit Bumrah’s show on day 2 of the Gabba Test on Sunday, December 15. The left-arm pacer was the highlight of an otherwise flat and tiring day for Indians as Travis Head and Steve Smith scored hundreds.
Bumrah took 5 wickets for 72 runs in 25 overs, but the rest of the pack did not deliver. Nitish Reddy and Mohammed Siraj picked one wicket each, but the rest of the bowlers, barring Bumrah, were leaking runs as Head and Smith’s centuries helped Australia post 405 runs for the loss of 7 wickets at stumps on Sunday. Speaking to SEN Radio, Shastri said the other bowlers were leaking runs from both sides.
