Ravi Shastri rebuts Michael Vaughan’s allegations of India-favored T20 World Cup

Shastri hits back at Vaughan over favoritism allegations against World Cup schedule.

More than a week after India’s victory at the T20 World Cup, Ravi Shastri has rebutted Michael Vaughan‘s accusations over the event’s scheduling favoring the hosts.

Taking to social media, Vaughan highlighted Afghanistan players’ travel delays to Trinidad for their semi-final against England. He alleged disrespect and an India-driven schedule by the ICC.

In a recent interaction, Shastri dismissed Vaughan’s comments saying no Indian cares about his views. “Let him sort England’s semi-final defeat out first.”

The former India coach cited the team’s superior trophy-lifting record to Vaughan’s criticism. “India has won four times. I don’t think Michael’s lifted a Cup ever. So think twice,” remarked Shastri.

On Suryakumar Yadav’s contested catch in the final, Shastri silenced detractors by stating future generations will only see India’s name engraved as champions.

His rebuttal backed the team amid outside allegations, stressing winning honors speaks louder than opinions critical of India’s World Cup victory.
