Rishabh Pant declared fit for IPL 2024 comeback

Rishabh Pant declared fit for IPL 2024

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant fit for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Pant will return to competitive cricket after recovering from injuries sustained in a road accident in 2022.

It is understood the talented cricketer underwent an intensive 14-month rehabilitation program. Pant could feature in Delhi Capitals’ opening match on March 23 as he resumes duties behind the stumps and in the batting order.

In 2022, Pant met with a serious car crash near Roorkee while driving his luxury SUV early in the morning. Reports suggest the vehicle became airborne briefly before skidding and catching fire. The young star was undergoing treatment for his injuries.

Regarded as a match-winner for his explosive batting, Delhi Capitals sorely felt Pant’s absence last season. The swashbuckling left-hander has often turned matches in his franchise’s favour through scintillating knocks.

Videos online recently showed Pant stepping up training as part of his comeback bid. Fans have enthralled the BCCI’s announcement on social media platforms, celebrating the batter’s recovery and praising his dedication. All eyes will now be on his return to the field in IPL 2024.
