Rishabh Pant is set on the second Test against Australia in Perth. India’s wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, seems to have his eyes on the prize as the 27-year-old shared a post on social media ahead of the second Test against Australia in Adelaide as part of the Border-Gavaskar series.
Pant shared a post from the gym, accompanied by Virat Kohli and a few members of the Indian team management, on his official handle on X (formerly Twitter). His caption read, “Progress Over Perfection.”
The left-hander remains a vital component of the Indian side with his bat and the gloves. Though the team didn’t require his usual match-saving performances in the opener, it would not be too much to ask if Pant were to come up with something with the bat later in the series.
India picked the game by a margin of 295 runs in Perth in the first match to take an upper hand into the rest of the series, and the Aussies would now look much more desperate to make things level against the same Indian team.
The second Test will be a day-night affair with the pink ball, presenting a different challenge. During their practice attitude against the Prime Minister’s XI, India had a positive show, even though Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah did not play.
Pant, Dhruv Jurel, and Sarfaraz Khan shared wicketkeeping duties during the match. Pant finished the game with just one catch from behind the stumps and did not walk out to bat.
