Rishabh Pant set for milestone 100th match for Delhi Capitals.
Rishabh Pant will achieve a special personal milestone when he leads Delhi Capitals against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday. The flamboyant keeper-batter will become the first player to complete 100 matches for the franchise in the Indian Premier League.
Pant has been a trailblazing figure for Dehli Capitals since his debut in 2016. He has amassed 2856 runs from 99 games with an average of 34.40. His strike rate of 147.90 underlines his aggressive approach.
The southpaw already holds the record as Delhi’s highest run-getter, overtaking stars like David Warner and Virender Sehwag.
He first made his name with a stellar 2018 season, during which he piled up 684 runs at a mammoth strike rate of 173.60. But his match-winning 128* against SRH in 2018, comprising audacious scoops and pulls, truly announced his arrival.
Pant was handed captaincy duties last year and has led the side to 16 wins in 31 games. As a youngster, he was part of the 2020 squad that reached the final.
The dasher recently returned from a serious road accident and will be keen to celebrate his milestone in style against RR. Having shown immense loyalty, Pant will look to continue shaping Delhi’s journey in the cash-rich league.
