Rohit Sharma hailed as ‘Mumbai cha Raja’ by teammate Suryakumar Yadav

The Indian ODI and Test captain Sharma received this high praise after playing a blistering knock in Mumbai on Wednesday. His T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, declared him ‘Mumbai cha Raja’ in an Instagram comment on one of Sharma’s posts.

Rohit, who took home the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2024 for the International Cricketer of the Year, posted a picture of himself preparing for the award function. Suryakumar has bold and frequently uses Marathi slang, and he paid richness to Rohit’s words that he is a leader and a dominating figure in the Indian cricket team.

Suryakumar was instrumental in making India champions in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He had one of the most thrilling moments in the final against South Africa when he jumped and took a catch off David Miller’s bat while touching the ropes.

Rohit presently stood out as a very critical player in the Indian team, both as a player and as a captain. The opening batsman has repeatedly been a champion performer, and the captain has done a wonderful job making his side a force to reckon with in all three game formats.

Rohit also can’t hide the support he got from BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, the former Head Coach Rahul Dravid, and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar, who assisted him in making the team successful.

After two Twenty20s against Bangladesh, the Indian captain will switch to preparation for the two-match Test series as the team sets to solidify its position in International cricket.
