Rohit Sharma liked by ‘Intruder’ query ahead of T20 World Cup 2024

A security breach occurred on the Indian cricket team while practicing at the New York Hotel before their T20 World Cup 2024 opening match against Ireland. This sparked concern from authorities as there is trend of a fan getting past security and meeting Rohit.

In the pre-match press conference on Tuesday, Rohit was grilled by a reporter about the issue, but the Indian captain seemed quite uncomfortable with the questions.

“Sabse pahle toh main bolunga ki koi bhi aise ground mein intrude na kare. Ye sahi nahi hai aur yeh sawal bhi sahi nahi thha,” Rohit said, distanced from the fan and equally fuming over the format of the question posed to him.

It has also highlighted the fact that, for the safety of the players and people attending the match, certain restrictions, such as rules and regulations, must be adhered to in any country.

“Well, I think players’ security and outside people’s security matters as well. We are here to play cricket, yes, but the people sitting out there, it is crucial for them to know that there are certain rules and regulations that every country has, and it needs to be followed in the first place,” Rohit stated firmly.

The 36-year-old also shook off the assertion that such incidents may turn out to be a misadventure for the players, insisting that the focus is squarely on the job at hand, which is the crunch duel against Ireland.
