Sunil Gavaskar hails young star Nitish Kumar Reddy as better than Hardik Pandya

Legendary Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar Hails Rising Star Nitish Kumar Reddy as Better Than Hardik Pandya.

In the midst of a thrilling Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a new star has emerged on the cricketing horizon, and legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has taken notice. Gavaskar has showered high praise on the 21-year-old Nitish Kumar Reddy, going so far as to liken him to the dynamic Hardik Pandya.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, the young all-rounder from Hyderabad, has been making waves with his impressive performances against the mighty Australians. In the recently concluded Melbourne Test, which India lost by a margin of 184 runs, Reddy stood out with a magnificent century in the first innings, helping India keep the game within their grasp.

Sunil Gavaskar, the former Indian captain and one of the game’s all-time greats, has been effusive in his praise for Nitish Kumar Reddy. Gavaskar has called the youngster “one of the brightest young stars in Indian cricket,” lauding his ability to read match situations and play accordingly.

“The Melbourne Test brought to the fore one of the brightest young stars in Indian cricket, Nitish Kumar Reddy. He came to the attention of Indian cricket fans with his performances for the Hyderabad franchise in the IPL, and while he had not done much at the first-class level, it’s a credit to Ajit Agarkar and his fellow selectors to have seen enough to pitchfork him into the Test arena.

Gavaskar further noted that Reddy’s impressive debut in Perth and his growing stature with each subsequent Test match has cemented his place in the team for the foreseeable future.

One of the most intriguing aspects of Gavaskar’s assessment is his comparison of Nitish Kumar Reddy to Hardik Pandya, another highly-rated Indian all-rounder. The legendary cricketer believes that Reddy’s batting prowess is even better than Pandya’s was when the latter first burst onto the international scene.

“Ever since the unavailability of Hardik Pandya for Test cricket, India has been looking for an all-rounder who can bowl medium pace and bat as well. Reddy’s bowling is still a work in progress, but as a batter, he is better than Pandya was around the same time,” Gavaskar said.

With Reddy’s century in Melbourne and his valuable contributions in the earlier Tests, the young all-rounder has certainly made a strong case for himself to be a regular fixture in the Indian lineup.

The cricketing world waits with bated breath to see how Nitish Kumar Reddy’s career unfolds, especially with the legendary Sunil Gavaskar firmly in his corner.
