It was yet another day of extraordinary performance by the USA in cricket, in which the USA created history again by defeating Bangladesh and clinching the series in T20Is. In their first game, the associate nation completely dominated their opponent before they once again shocked them, winning the second T20I by just six runs.
Special moments belonged to our fast bowler Ali Khan who took wickets in last two overs to change the overall prospect of the match. Born in Attock, Pakistan, Ali migrated to United States in 2010 when he was 19 years only and became an international cricketer very soon.
Before rising to fame, Ali was discovered playing at the ICC Americas’ open trial in Indianapolis; however, the performance of his life came in the Caribbean Premier League in 2016, where he clean bowled veteran cricketer Kumar Sangakkara off the first ball of his first over. He has built his T20 career and played for franchises such as Khulna Titans in the BPL and Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL.
However, Ali’s aggressive approach has seen him serve a two-game ban at some point due to suspension under the ICC Code of Conduct in 2023. His consistent hard work and sheer talent have propelled the USA to a series win over Bangladesh.
With cricket lovers looking on in amazement, the associate nation is rising to the occasion, showing that barriers of not being able to qualify as a test-playing nation ought not to be a hindrance.
