Adam Gilchrist, former Australian cricket and a current Club Prairie Podcast host, had a funny moment in the show without realizing that it was him of whom Virender Sehwag, a former Indian cricketer, was bragging about how India is a rich country.
The friendly chat between the both was why Gilchrist fell into fits of laughter. Evidently, this situation was responsible for the pleasant exchange during the conversation.
Gilchrist rightly pointed out that no Indian players except those there for the IPL play in T20 competitions outside of India. Anticipating and asking whether a day will come when Indians will step into other T20 leagues too is what he was curious about.
Sehwag followed by saying part,
“For me and you, the answer is no. We are the rich people, it doesn’t make sense for us to play other leagues of poor counties.”
Sehwag told another funny story of rejecting the invitation to play for the Big Bash League (BBL). The amount offered was the same as he would normally spend on his holidays.
He humorously uttered,
“It seems like I was just a few weeks ago, when I am retired from the Indian cricket & was playing IPL; Big Bash offered me around $100,000 to play T20 in the league. I said that I can spend only that much on my holidays, and last night’s receipt was more than that.”
The banter between Sehwag and Gilchrist delivered an amusing scene which all cricket enthusiasts enjoyed due to the fact that it revealed the cordial spirit and the humor shared among players.
