Warning issued to underperforming stars in India’s T20 World Cup squad by former WC champion

IPL 2024 halfway stage reveals top and bottom teams.

The IPL 2024 has reached its halfway mark, distinguishing leading sides from laggards. Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders occupy the top spots while Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore prop up the table.

The tournament is significant as India will play the T20 World Cup 2024 post the cash-rich league. National selection is expected this month.

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch expressed concern for some struggling stars. “Yashasvi Jaiswal and Hardik Pandya haven’t hit top form. Pressure is mounting on them with the World Cup ahead,” he stated on Star Sports.

However, Jaiswal silenced critics by smashing an unbeaten century versus Mumbai Indians, taking his tally to 32.14 average.

Finch said the duo would want runs to ensure selection and contribute to India’s title defense. He also considered pace bowling a concern area despite Jasprit Bumrah’s form but believes spinners could emerge, saviors, particularly Kuldeep Yadav if picked.

Finch remains optimistic with seven more weeks of games for improvements, as India aims to regain global T20 glory on home soil.
