Who will succeed Jay Shah as BCCI secretary?

While Shah’s tenure at the BCCI, which began in 2019, is nearing its end, it is still suspenseful as to who will replace him in the Indian Cricket Board. However, two names have come up who could replace him.

Jay Shah will be the next chairman of the International Cricket Council. Ahead of his taking over, the current Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary has to step down from the position, which he will do in November. Shah was elected unopposed as the chairman of the International Cricket Council earlier this year.

With Shah’s tenure at BCCI, which began in 2019 drawing to a close, questions are being asked over who might succeed him in the Indian cricket board. If media reports are to be believed, Rohan Jaitley is still the favourite to replace Shah. The same was carried in a report carried by India Today which was later taken down.

However, this is not the first time his name has cropped up with the BCCI Secretary post when reports earlier claimed that the current Delhi and District Cricket Association President could succeed Shah before the son of the late Bhartiya Janata Party BJP leader Arun Jaitley denied any authenticity in such claims of him taking up the role.
