Tendulkar, Dhoni, and Kohli have become the biggest brands in the country but are not the richest cricketers in the world or the government.
Cricket is India’s favorite sport, and it brings with it not only national pride but also a potential route to great financial prosperity. Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendran Singh Dhoni, and Virat Kohli are the biggest brands in the country and are also rated as some of the best cricketers of all time. But they’re not the richest in the world or the government.
Aryaman Birla stands out from these cricketing heroes, as he has an incredible net worth of ₹70,000 crore. He is the son of Kumar Mangalam Birla, the chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, and belongs to one of India’s top industrial families.
Although now an effective entrepreneur, Aryaman was still an aspiring cricketer. He made his Ranji Trophy debut during the 2017-18 season for Madhya Pradesh and later got bought by the Rajasthan Royals for ₹30 lakh in the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL).
ESPNcricinfo reports that he played nine first-class matches, with 414 runs, of which one was a century and one half-century. List A cricket saw him playing four games, scoring only 36 runs. Starting very well, Aryaman had to move away from professional cricket, citing personal reasons, in 2019.
Even though he was a part of the Rajasthan Royals for two seasons, he did not play a game for the IPL side and was subsequently released by the franchise.
