In a major step towards digital learning, BCCL (Bharat Coking Coal Limited) today inked an MoU with EdCIL (India) Limited. Out of them, 79 Government schools located in Dhanbad district, Jharkhand will be establish with smart classrooms and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs.
The partnership was inked on Thursday in the presence of SCCL CMD V.Balamurgan and BCCL Director – Personnel Samiran Dutta and Murali Krishna Ramaiya at Coal Bhawan.
Under this initiative an amount of Rs 13 crore has been earmarked for the Swarnim Vandana Fund out of which Rs 2 crore has been given as initial contribution by the government of Gujarat.
The funds to be spent will be 54 lakh per school and it is supposed to be invested on smart class rooms, ICT labs and the technical paraphernalia needed for conducting digital classes.
It is a part of the Digital Vidya project going on in Coal India. Therefore, its aim is towards education so as to keep students equipped with modern gadgets and tools.
Inking the deal, BCCL’s CMD Samiran Dutta said that BCCL will ensure and modernising the entire learning process of the students and impart quality education. This is more than simply putting in the technology but it is really an SPIFF* special effort to get the right technology to the youth.
It is pertinent to note that this action plan is one of the several new directions for the schools in Dhanbad where till now only didactic approach to education was prevalent.
Such schools have had smart classes and ICT labs established which means that student shall now embrace technical knowledge and digital learning. This will also enhance the quality of education of the respective centres.
Once this project would be successfully implemented, it would be one of the biggest achievements in imparting the flavour of digital education amongst the students in the government schools of Dhanbad.
