The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the NEET paper leak case, has nabbed four students studying at AIIMS Patna for interrogation. This examination mafia tries to find a student to solve the leaked exam papers for circulation to the candidates by approaching the investigation agency.
On Wednesday night, the CBI arrested three third-year students from the 2021 batch and one second-year student. According to AIIMS Patna Executive Director and CEO Dr Gopal Krushna Pal, the CBI closed the students’ rooms and removed their mobile phones and laptops.
Among the detained students, only Chandan Singh, Rahul Anand, Karan Jain, and Kumar Sanu are from Bihar and Jharkhand states in India. The attending physician, Dr Pal, said that the students have not been sent back to the hostel yet, and the institute is extending its complete cooperation to CBI.
That being said, the CBI’s action in arresting the NEET paper leak follows the arrest of Pankaj Kumar, a civil engineer from the 2017 batch of NIT Jamshedpur, for allegedly seeking a NEET-UG paper from the trunk of the NTA, among other items. In the case of alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 examination, the CBI has lodged six cases in FIRs in various states.
