BTech student dies by suicide in Ghaziabad, UP

A 20-year-old B Tech second-year student from on Sunday allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the platform of the rapid rail station in the Muradnagar area, police said on Sunday.

The student has been named Keshav, a resident of Bahadurgarh-Jhajjar in Haryana, who left the hostel on Saturday evening informing friends that he was going home, said DCP (Rural) Surendra Nath Tiwari.

Keshav, 22, a computer science student, bought a Muradnagar-Ghaziabad ticket and got on the platform at 4 pm, the police added. At the Muradnagar rapid rail station, Keshav was seen walking around the platform before he suddenly scaled the railings at the end of the platform.

People nearby then took him to the Muradnagar community health center, where he was certified dead by the doctors.

The student’s body was taken for autopsies, and the family of the learner was informed. No suicide note or written note of the incident has been discovered by authorities, and no report has been filed by any of his relatives, they said.

Superintendent of Police, DCP Tiwari, said: The matter would be looked into and a complaint laid; action would be taken then.
