Delhi government doubles down on education with increased budget allocation

As Delhi’s Finance Minister Atishi Marlena presented the annual budget yesterday, she had an exciting announcement for the education sector: a ₹16,396 crore allocation, double the amount from 10 years ago.

“Education has always been our top priority,” said Atishi, who oversees schools as Education Minister. She spoke proudly of the journey of government schools under CM Arvind Kejriwal.

“Before, the poor condition of classes drove families to private options. But we’ve transformed spaces and put dedicated teachers in every class,”

She recalled. Over 47,000 new hires and the ongoing recruitment of 7,000 more are helping strengthen the system.

University seats, too, have soared, up 20,000 to 93,000 total enrollments. she vowed

“Students are our future, so we’ll keep investing in their growth,”

Outlining a massive ₹76,000 crore budget, Atishi reaffirmed dreams of true equality. Obstacles remain, but Delhites trust this team to keep modernizing schools and building a brighter tomorrow for every child.
