Campus placements began at IIT Bombay on Sunday with more than 40 companies participating in the first slot. Among the top offers this year, Da Vinci Derivatives, a fintech trading company, stole the show by offering a whopping ₹2.2 crore job offer to one student.
Officials said that several students received top packages during this placement season. Continuing the upward graph, IIT Bombay this year received a total of 258 PPOs. Day one of placements witnessed unprecedented participation from multinational and Indian companies. The top trading firms such as WorldQuant and IMC showed interest in large numbers of students.
Companies also introduced multilevel interview processes to filter out the best candidates, and students claimed that this season fetched them better salary packages than the previous year. E-commerce giants such as Ola and Flipkart entered the race, offering multiple offers to aspiring graduates.
With better participation and competitive offers, IIT Bombay placements this year reflected its long-standing reputation of supplying hot talent to the job market.
