MBB University in tripura gets Rs 20 crore for new infrastructure

Agartala – Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for sanctioning a Rs 20 crore infrastructure grant to the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) University in the state.

The funds have been allocated under the central government’s Prime Minister’s Higher Education Mission (PM-USHA) initiative that aims to strengthen infrastructure across 78 universities nationwide.

In a social media post, CM Saha thanked the Prime Minister and Education Minister for approving the grant that will allow boosting of facilities at MBB University. Set up in 2016-17 academic year, the university currently offers five postgraduate and two integrated masters programs.

The infrastructure enhancement grant will assist the varsity in meeting its growth objectives. Earlier, Mr Saha also acknowledged central sanctions of Rs 419 crore for urban development projects in Tripura, with the first installment of Rs 83.80 crore already released.
