Mumbai University’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni, took the lead in launching “Vidyarthi Sanwaad” (Dialog with Students) the other day. According to Dr. Kulkarni, the mission of this dialogue is to address students’ grievances concerning the implementation of the new four-year undergraduate (UG) degree courses. Twice a month, the senior staff will be available at Mumbai University’s Kalina campus and offer solutions to problems and guidance to all students who want to interface directly.
The four-year-long UG courses will be used in over 800 affiliated colleges from the next academic year. While students accent uncertainties about the ‘given structure’ proposition in NEP 2020, following their anecdotes of experiences in college autonomy, this year.
This undertaking seeks to alleviate these concerns and offer relevance to all six disciplines of the new undergraduate courses, including the major and minor courses, open electives, vocational skills, attainment courses, Indian Knowledge System (IKS), and on-the-job training. One of the experts who contributed immensely to preparing the NEP 2020 implementation document in Maharashtra, Dr. Kulkarn, will offer clear explanations on interpreting this policy.
Additionally, Dr. Kulkarni will be assisted by Pro. VC Dr. Ajay Bhamre, Registrar Professor Baliram Gaikwad, and Director Dr. Pooja Raundale. All of them will address non-NEP doubts and questions.
The sessions will occur at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Bhavan Newarya section at the Mumbai University- Kalina Campus on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from April onwards. Identification is mandatory for student participation in these sessions; hence, they should carry valid ID cards.
