Somewhat related, the toppers figure has come down to 17 from 61 students after the National Testing Agency (NTA) re-looked at NEET-UG scores on the SC verdict.
Mridul M Anand of the OBC-NCL category has shifted to the coming year as the new all-India topper, replacing Ved S Shende of Maharashtra. The revised merit list has also shown changes in upper ranks: Ayush Naugraiya from Uttar Pradesh to the second rank and Mazin Mansoor from Bihar to the third rank.
The rerun results prove that seventeen candidates got the highest mark, 720/720, while six candidates got a slightly lower mark of 716/720, and the remaining got 715/720. Below is the list of the top 17 toppers, and these students belong to different states in India.
The Supreme Court had compelled NTA to re-total the NEET-UG scores, using the correct answer to a question in physics. This has affected the general, OBC, and SC qualifying status, along with a slight decrease in the cut-off mark values.
This year, over 24 lakh registrations were received for the NEET-UG 2024 examination, and students strived to secure medical seats in India.
