On Tuesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that the National Education Policy 2020 would help prepare students and youth for building a modern and empowered India.

Majhi inaugurated a three-day national workshop on the NEP and said it would play an important role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of building a ‘Viksit Bharat,’ or developed India.

The policy will help create robust infrastructure and provide quality education at the primary level, he added. Majhi added that the NEP will be implemented in Odisha starting next academic year.

“The use of technology in imparting education will be enhanced. Providing education through technology will become an integral part of our academic system,” the chief minister said.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, speaking on the occasion, said Odisha will be a model for the entire nation in bringing reforms to the education system. He said the Centre and the Odisha government are working together in that direction.

The minister said that after the BJP formed government in the eastern state, concrete steps were taken to implement the NEP “in letter and spirit.” This story has not been edited by News18 staff and is published from a syndicated news agency feed – PTI)
