While delivering the 78th Independence Day speech, the present Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, assured the people of India that he would improve the education system in the country. He underlined the target of making it to a point where young Indians do not have to pursue education in foreign countries. However, the focus will be on how international students can be attracted to India for learning purposes.
“India envisages tomorrow where one can complete his studies in India. Our Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi said this today this way”.
On this, Hazarika said, “Our endeavour is to ensure that foreign students prefer India as their study destination. ”
Where medical aspirants moving overseas for education was portrayed as a major concern, the Prime Minister, for the first time, declared the government’s plan to increase medical seats by an additional 75,000 in the next five years. He also emphasised the drain of money spent by families, especially middle-income earners, to study medicine in foreign countries.
“Today, there are about 25,000 students who leave every year for the purpose of medical education to countries whose names still amaze me,”
said Modi,
“Our Government realises this and is committed to creating more medical facilities at home. ”
This address took place at the most famous site: Red Fort. It ensured that the Prime Minister’s vision for a strong, grounded education system catering to the needs of not only national but also international students was realized.
