Tripura Government declares School holiday Amid geat wave

Tripura declares holidays amid heatwave concerns.

Facing intense heat, the Tripura government suspended school for four days from Wednesday. According to the Education Department, given a prevailing heat wave per the Revenue Department advisory, the step was taken.

As the Indian Meteorological Department forecasts, such weather conditions are expected to persist. Tripura had also noted heatwaves, sunstroke, and sunburn as state-specific disasters for management.

All district education officers have been directed to notify schools under their charge regarding the order. It aims to offer respite to young students during torrid temperatures.

Meanwhile, district disaster authorities have been told to raise awareness and update the public about conditions. They are also ensuring that vulnerable groups have safe water, emergency care, and other essentials.

Medical advisories and precautionary dos and don’ts during the period have also been issued to people by the state administration.

As the intense heat buffets live, such holiday announcements could provide timely relief even as authorities closely monitor the situation and conditions.
