3 mauled filming leopard in field

It happened when people were picnicking near the Son River in the Khitauli beat of Shahdol range in Madhya Pradesh. The big cat attacked two persons, and then one more person was dragged to the ground and was tried to be ripped into.

Shahdol: A leopard attacked three people in the South Forest Division Range in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol region on Sunday, leaving them injured.

The incident occurred during a group picnic near the Son River in the Khitauli beat of Shahdol range. Officials said that the victims of the leopard attack were taken to a hospital.

The video clip, shot by one of the victims, is circulated on all social media forums. It shows how the leopard attacked the picnickers, who had instigated the big cat first.

The film captures how the leopard springs at the picnickers for a few minutes before it is finally shot by one of the victims.

The video starts when the bunch of people who were calling that leopard from the bushes start frolicking and playing by taking a video and shouting “aaja aaja” (come, come).

Their fun and games soon turn to horror as the leopard runs into them and pounces.

The leopard attacked two people and then dragged another person to the ground to try to rip into him.

In the video, a group of picnickers is screaming and yelling “bhaag”—or run. The leopard runs away within seconds as the video goes dead.

According to the sub-divisional forest officer, Shahdol Badshah Rawat, another tiger attack occurred a few days back, and they then called on people not to venture into the forests.

“Advisory has been issued. We have asked officials to alert villagers and others not to go into the forests. A control room has also been set up to help people in such incidents,” he said.
