4 dead, 17 hospitalized after consuming spurious liquor in Bihar’s Siwan

District Magistrate Mukul Kumar Gupta informed that legal action has been taken against SHO Bhagwanpur and ASI Prohibition of the Bhagwanpur police station.

At least four people died in Bihar’s Siwan district due to spurious alcohol consumption on Wednesday, while 17 others were admitted to the hospital.

Two people have been shifted to Patna for treatment, and 15 others have been shifted to a civil hospital for treatment.

District Magistrate Mukul Kumar Gupta said legal action has also been taken against Bhagwanpur SHO and Prohibition ASI of the Bhagwanpur police station.

The toll is likely to rise even as the administration is investigating the exact cause of death.

The locals, however, claimed it was a case of ingestion of spurious liquor and that the physical condition of the victims was testimony to that.
