In a blistering attack, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of functioning as the “political wing and mouthpiece of the BJP.” The allegations come after the probe agency filed a fresh chargesheet against AAP and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case.
According to the AAP, the “intention” behind the excise policy case investigation has always been to “frame AAP” and “arrest all its top leaders to crush the party.” The party claimed that the ED’s chargesheet is part of a “grand political conspiracy” to target the Kejriwal-led government.
“The ED is acting like a political tool of the BJP. From the beginning, this probe aimed to implicate AAP and its leaders,” the party said in a strongly worded statement.
The AAP’s scathing attack underscores the growing political tensions between the party and the central government as the national capital gears up for a high-stakes electoral battle. The party has repeatedly accused the BJP-led government of using investigative agencies to harass and intimidate its political opponents.
