With the vote count for Delhi Assembly elections drawing closer, Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal urged the Election Commission to clear apprehensions over foul play in treatment of electoral data. Kejriwal today accused the poll panel of “denying all requests” put forward by Aam Aadmi Party to publish Form 17C, stating the votes traced at each of the polling booth across the Assembly segments.
Meanwhile, reacting to the situation, the AAP has released a website wherein the party has made available the Form 17C data regarding all the Assembly constituencies. Kejriwal said on X, “This form provides the details about the votes at each booth in minute detail”. He wrote further that it will be provided in a user-friendly tabulated format so that the information of such importance may be accessed by each and every voter.
Kejriwal said, “It is unfortunate that the EC is refusing to provide this information in the interest of transparency.” He said the onus for such transparency should have lain with the Election Commission.
Taking cognizance of the accusations raised by Kejriwal, the Chief Electoral Officer explained that according to Rule 49S of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961, every presiding officer gave an account of the votes recorded in Form 17C to the polling agents available at each and every polling station on the date of voting on February 5, 2025. He claimed the aforementioned rule is religiously being followed at all polling stations within ongoing elections in Delhi.
