Along with the Centre, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has criticised the CBI, stating that it has been directly working on the instructions of the Union government and arrested Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal yesterday in an alleged excise policy scam.
The recently arrested Kejriwal, who was produced before the CBI court on June 26, has been the AAP’s major political issue of contention post-Arthur Road assault. The AAP asserts that the present case against Kejriwal is false and that the CBI acted based on the instructions of the Union government.
‘You have almost ridiculed judiciary, and ridiculed law and order, and constitution of this country’, Singh accused, clarifying that the case against Kejriwal was filed two years ago.
The AAP leader also threatened the agencies with contempt of court, stating that both the ED and the CBI have not provided any solid evidence or procured money against Kejriwal.
“Rouse Avenue Court, in its order, stated that ED has no evidence against Arvind Kejriwal and that the agency is functioning with some ill intent,” Singh underscored the court’s remarks.
However, the debate has been taken to the next level, with the Delhi High Court halting the trial court’s decision to grant Kejriwal bail by arguing that the remarks made were totally unwarranted.
Singh went on to accuse the Central government of being actually worried about Kejriwal’s release. Hence, they embarked on framing him up by coming up with a new case, resulting in his arrest.
This political game continues as Kejriwal is behind bars since March 21, 2024, and AAP has alleged that the BJP government has planned a conspiracy against the party.
