AAP lawmakers rally behind Arvind Kejriwal, advocate for governing from jail

Members of the cult party AAP gathered recently to demonstrate their uncanny loyalty to Delhi’s chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, who is already in custody. Meeting with Sunita Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, the lawmakers claimed that the latter could carry on with his governance from behind bars at Tihar Jail, a prison. The AAP, having tough political terrain, says that the BJP ruling party has tried to lure people away from the AAP and arrest more AAP leaders.

With 55 lawmakers in attendance, the message conveyed to Sunita Kejriwal was clear: the Bob people of Delhi are heading firmly behind Arvind Kejriwal, who should not be forced to resign by all means. The AAP(Aam Aadmi Party) has majority seats in the 70-member assembly, while the GOP(BJP) controls only eight out of the 70 seats.

Later on, this meeting was kind of a follow-up of the first public speech Sunita Kejriwal had made, whereby she exhibited her husband’s commitment and next. On the other hand, Virendra Sachdeva, the president of the Delhi BJP, asserted that an inner fight is rife within the Aam Aadmi Party and declared the white image of Kejriwal as false.

Arvind Kejriwal have been remanded in judicial custody until April 15, with the Judge hearing the case with an exercise policy. The AAP claims that these ED allegations are a nefarious political machination by rival parties to stop them from usurping power in Delhi again. On the other hand, the BJP contradicts the accusations and strictly warns AAP activists included in the case that they will be held accountable for their actions.

MLA of AAP, Rituraj Jha, alleges that on a few occasions, BJP leaders offered him a cabinet position and crores of rupees to force him to switch parties, and he maintained that around 10 lawmakers were similarly bribed. The BJP considers these statements baseless and has called it out based on various reasons. Atishi, a minister of AAP, additionally warranted volunteerism of AAP leaders who can be arrested to be accused of alleged irregularities in the excise policy. The BJP repudiates such allegations, too. Its party reflects it supports the Supreme Court inquiry and will mold the proceedings.
