AAP leader Atish Hospitalized after hunger strike complications

The AAP’s Atish started her hunger strike on June 21, 2018, during a continuous hot wave situation in Delhi and has been pressing the BJP-led Haryana government to release water in Delhi.

New Delhi:
Delhi Minister Atish Marlena, who was on a hunger strike over the water crisis in the national capital today, ended her fast on Tuesday as her health was ailing, according to her party.

On ‘X’, the AAP claimed that the Water Minister from Delhi, who is 43 years old, was immediately rushed to Lok Nayak Hospital’s emergency Intensive Care Unit after her blood sugar level plummeted to 36.

Her blood sugar level dropped to 43 at midnight and to 36 at 3 AM in the morning, and then LNJP Hospital doctors advised immediate admissions. She has vomited and eaten nothing for the last five days, as the AAP has alleged and shared some pictures of Ms. Atish being shifted to the hospital.

She was on a ventilator in the emergency ICU at LNJP, the source aware of the development said, adding, Let’s pray for her speedy recovery.

Ms. Atish was on a hunger strike from June 21st, and in the middle of a heat wave, she sought that Haryana, under the BJP, release water for Delhi.

As per her, Haryana is short-supplying Delhi with nearly 2.28 million people by allowing only 100 million metric tons of water.

Her blood pressure and further sugar levels are coming down, and the weight has reduced too; the ketone level is extremely high, which has very dangerous effects in the long run, she said in a video posted in her X official account.
