Accused in Kannada actor’s murder seen wearing makeup in custody

What surprised many was that a notice was put out to a female police inspector after the partner of the jailed Kannada actor, Darshan Thoogudeepa, Pavithra Gowda, was caught on camera applying makeup while in police custody.

Pavithra, who is the key accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, was taken to her house at HBR layout in Bengaluru for depiction of the scene of the crime. While lipstick and makeup were spotted applied to her, she was caught smiling in the video as she returned from her house accompanied by the police officers.

The incident has aroused people’s concern, and the DCP (West) office has served a show cause notice to the concerned SI for negligence. The former used to spend every night at her home, where she might have left her makeup bag, the lady PSI should have seen this and prevented Pavithra from doing that, This has forced the police to issue a notice for explanation to her, DCP (West), Girish said.

The investigations have identified Gowda as accused number one of the case as they claimed that he planned the murder and Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa as accused number two, in this regard, they are accused of executing the murder. Other key accused, including Darshan and Pavithra and 15 others, have been detained in the case and sent to judicial custody.

This incident has elicited a lot of controversy and has drawn people’s attention towards the treatment of accused persons by the police. The police force of Karnataka has vowed to provide a proper probing of the case and vowed that there will be no compromise on enforcement when the rules and regulations are not followed.
