Air India crew member assaulted by intruder in London hotel

The attacker came into the cabin crew’s room in the London hotel and attacked her; he struck her on the head with a hanger and then dragged her along the floor.

A female crew member of Air India was attacked by an intruder in her room in a hotel in London where she was put up, the airline said in a statement on Sunday.

The company noted that it occurred in a hotel belonging to a world’s largest hotel group, adding that there is a police investigation ongoing at the moment.

It has been alleged that the attack happened in the Radisson Red Hotel at Heathrow in London, and the airline’s employees had earlier alerted the management on safety issues at the hotel.

After waking and seeing the invader, the man is said to have physically attacked her. He assaulted her with a clothes hanger, then dragged her on the floor, the reports read,

She screamed for help and attempted to flee out of the room but was blocked by the intruder. According to reports, she shouted, and her colleagues heard her and rushed to her aid.

The crew member was hospitalized after the event occurred. The assailant was arrested.

“It is painful that one of the crew members of Air India had to face an unlawful intrusion at a hotel owned by a premier international chain,” he added.

The airline also said, “We are extending all possible assistance to the concerned employee and their group, including providing appropriate counseling support. Air India is in touch with the local law enforcement in the matter and also the hotel authorities in order to ensure the non-recurrence of such incidents.”.
