Akhilesh Yadav criticizes BJP over Sambhal excavation controversy

An excavation team from the Archaeological Survey of India dug up a stepwell in the Chanda’s area of Sambhal district on Sunday. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the BJP on Monday when excavation work was underway in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal.

“They will keep searching like this, and one day, by digging and digging, they will end up digging their government,” ANI quoted him as saying. District magistrate Rajendra Pensiya confirmed on Sunday that the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) unearthed a ‘baoli’ (stepwell) covering 400 square meters in the Chandausi area of the Sambhal district.

DM Pensiya added, “This baoli is said to have been built during the time of the grandfather of Bilari’s king.” According to an HT report, the stepwell is registered in revenue records as “Bilari ki Rani ki Bavadi.”

This architectural house has four chambers. Its second and third floors were made of marble, and its upper floors were composed of bricks, as the DM declared. In its estimation, the structure is over 150 years old.
