The compensation was announced by Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, who went to KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad to visit the injured child after the stampede in the Sandhya theatre.
Telugu superstar Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa 2 have announced a compensation of Rs 2 crore to the family of the child who was critically injured in the stampede during a screening of the movie in Hyderabad. The child’s mother, 36-year-old Revathi, died in the stampede that broke out at Sandhya theatre as Arjun arrived for the premiere of the movie on December 4.
While Allu Arjun donated Rs 1 crore, Mythri Movies and director Sukumar donated Rs 50 lakh each. Film producer and chairperson of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, Dil Raju, will hand over the compensation to the family.
Allu Aravind, the father of Allu Arjun, announced the compensation while visiting KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad, to see the little nine-year-old Sri Tej. “I have some legal instructions not to interact with family members. So, I requested chairman Dil Raju to hand over the money,” says Allu Aravind.
Aravind said Sri Tej responded well to treatment and had been taken off the ventilator two days ago. “We are very satisfied about his recovery. Previously, he was on ventilation. In the last few days, he has come out of ventilation and is breathing by himself. Doctors said it is a very good sign; he will recover fast,” he said.
The development comes a day after Hyderabad Police questioned Allu Arjun for around four hours regarding the stampede. During the interrogation, sources said, Who is out, informed that he got to know of the death of the woman the day after.
