Allu Arjun summoned by police over Pushpa 2 screening stampede

Hyderabad Police issued a fresh notice to actor Allu Arjun on Monday in connection with the death of a 35-year-old woman in a stampede during the premiere of his latest film, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rise’, at the Sandhya Theater in the city.

According to sources, India Today TV reported that the notice summons Allu Arjun to appear for questioning tomorrow at 11 am in connection with the incident. On December 4, a 35-year-old woman died, and her son was taken to the hospital in a stampede-like situation at Hyderabad’s iconic Sandhya Theatre as thousands of fans stormed in to catch a glimpse of Allu Arjun.

After the incident, a case was lodged against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station.

After the case, the actor was arrested on December 13. Later that day, he obtained interim bail from the Telangana High Court and was released from prison on the morning of December 14. This development came a day after anti-Communist protests took a violent turn as members vandalised actor Ravi Teja’s house in Hyderabad on Sunday evening.

A group of people, representing themselves as the students of Osmania University, stormed into the actor’s home and raised demands that Rs 1 crore of compensation be granted to the victim’s family. They rained tomatoes besides damaging the property.
