Amit Shah slams opposition, lauds Modi govt’s action against terror.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the erstwhile UPA regime, accusing it of not responding strongly to terror strikes for vote bank considerations. Addressing a rally in Maharashtra, Shah alleged Pakistan carried out successive attacks during the Manmohan Singh government, but no concrete steps were taken.
In contrast, he credited the Modi dispensation with retaliating forcefully through surgical and air strikes post-Uri and Pulwama, Neutralizing terrorists across the border.
The Home Minister was referring to the 2016 and 2019 cross-LoC raids undertaken by Indian armed forces in the aftermath of the terror attacks.
Lauding the present ruling side, Shah said naxalism was uprooted from Maharashtra, and Article 370, long shielded by opponents, was History through Parliamentary mandate.
He also spoke of India’s economy being elevated to 5th from 11th earlier. Shah ostensibly sought to pitch Modi’s strong and decisive leadership against perceived opposition appeasement of terror activities.
The BJP leader emphasized national security remained a key priority of the current government as opposed to the previous administration’s alleged reluctance to employ military options.
