Haryana polls: Anil Vij stakes claim for CM post citing seniority.
Senior BJP leader and former Haryana minister Anil Vij has said he will stake claim for the state’s Chief Minister post.
Vij, talking to the media, stated he is the most senior BJP MLA in Haryana contesting his seventh assembly election.
Citing immense public pressure, the Ambala MLA said he will claim the top post based on his long experience and seniority.
However, Vij also acknowledged the final decision rests with the party if it wins the upcoming state elections. He expressed confidence that as CM, his administration would transform Haryana if given the opportunity.
So far, Vij has never sought any position but the current public sentiment has pushed him to make his aspirations clear.
The development puts the possible race for CM candidature in focus within BJP ahead of the polls in Haryana.
