Another Attack on Non-local in J&K, Migrant Found Dead in Srinagar

Shubam Kumar, a native of Bijnore, sustained a gunshot injury in the arm as the terrorists fired at him at Batagund village in the Tral area.

In another attack on non-locals in Jammu and Kashmir, a non-local was found dead in the Ganbugh area of Srinagar on Thursday.

That was the second instance today and the fourth in the past week when terrorists targeted a non-local. Earlier in the day, a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh was shot at by unidentified terrorists in the Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

The police claim that the deceased has been identified as MD Jahud from Bengal. At around 5:45 am today, Shubam Kumar, a resident of Bijnore, reportedly received a gunshot injury in the arm when terrorists fired at him at Batagund village of Tral area, said the officials.
“He has been shifted to hospital with a minor injury,” said the officials.

The attack occurred in Sonamarg, Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday evening when terrorists started shooting at a construction site, killing one doctor and six migrant workers, near an under-construction tunnel. Four others were also injured in the attack.

The three are APCO Infrastructure workers, who are constructing a tunnel from Z-Morh to the famous tourist resort Sonamarg to be turned into an all-weather road.

The suspected attackers were at least two in number and had attacked while laborers and other staff on duty at the Gund camp in Ganderbal, where the tunnel project is underway, had returned late at night to the camp.

Police on Wednesday released photographs of two foreign terrorists who participated in the attack.

The photographs were taken through CCTV cameras installed in the camp. Investigators have questioned more than 40 people so far.

The NIA team also visited the terror attack spot. The team is reported to have collected some vital clues from the terror spot.
