According to the police, the module was supplying arms to various gangs from Madhya Pradesh.
Amritsar Police Commissionerate broke an interstate weapons smuggling module with seven of its operatives arrested, said a top police officer on Thursday.
He also connected the module with a USA-based DiPrete Singh, Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said while additional seized 12 pistols, 16 magazines, and 23 cartridges.
The police preliminary investigations revealed that these modules were providing logistic support to various gangs by obtaining weapons from Madhya Pradesh.
He revealed that an FIR has already been registered at police station Islamabad (in Amritsar), and proper investigations are being done to reveal others involved in the network, as posted by DGP on X.
Punjab Police, as he said, is working to take stringent action against organized crime and illegal weapon trafficking and has already begun to uncover all forward and backward linkages within this network.
